A Groom is born in confusing times

As a young man I heard my mother yell "call me Ms. Dermansky, Ms., Ms., Ms.!" If the world were to improve society would simply follow the doctrines of feminism. Such as: women are to be addressed as Ms., not Mrs. or Miss, because it's nobody's business if they're married except their own. Mom explained to me that single men are "Mr. So-and-so" just as married men are " Mr. So-and-so," and it was just another example of our failing society.

I was raised Jewish, but feel my religion is actually feminism, which makes me a feminist. Unfortunately, my religion is in a state of chaos, with the very women the feminist doctrines were written for rejecting them.

In this climate of confusion I found a woman, proposed, planned a wedding and got married. I found being a groom overwhelming, confusing, as though I’d been taken back to the 1950’s. My independent wife started buying wedding magazines, dragging me to Tiffany’s and registered us for ballroom dance classes.

This was when I saw I needed help as a modern groom, but there were no magazines, advice columns, basically no where to turn. So, I’m starting this blog, to share my insights and hear from young Grooms in distress, (in the planning stages for the big day.)
